When Great Wine, Great Food, and the Best Putting Coach Show Up at Golf Houses — You Make a Party

A house is not a home until friends, laughter, and a good time walk through the door. We have always believed that.
We finished the project. It went onto market. Day 1, sold. We decided to throw a party — to fill the house with warmth and celebrate this new beginning. It is literally why we build the way we build.
What a Pebble Beach Golf Home Evening Actually Looks Like
Seventy people. A sommelier pouring Lewis Cellars. Chef Jeff Nimer of Haute Chefs LA flying in from Los Angeles to cook caviar in cannelloni in crème fraîche that made grown adults lose their composure. And Justin Russo setting up a putting contest on the backyard green that got competitive fast — barefoot, wine-in-hand, "I want a rematch" competitive.
That is a Golf House evening.
The Wellness Amenities Every Golf Home Should Have

Here is our hot take: the wellness industry has gotten weird. Somewhere between the $400 supplements and the influencer ice baths, we forgot that wellness is supposed to feel good. Not punishing. Not performative. Just good.
So we asked ourselves a question nobody in golf or real estate seemed to be asking: what if the healthiest version of your life also included a glass of really great wine?
At this golf house, the lower level had a sauna, a cold plunge, and a Life Source whole-house water system, because clean and soft water running through every tap in your home is not a luxury, it is common sense. Walk upstairs and you were looking at the golf course from the kitchen. Step outside and there was a private putting green waiting. No tee time. No pro shop. Just you, your coffee, and fifteen feet of pristine turf.
Add friends, Lewis Cellars, a chef who flew in to cook for you, and a putting contest with Malbon Golf prizes on the line.
That is wellness. We are calling it.
Why the Best Pebble Beach Second Homes Are Built for Tuesdays, Not Listing Photos
Most luxury homes are designed for photos. Big rooms. White walls. A kitchen island the size of a small country. They look incredible in a listing. And then you move in and realize nobody thought about what it actually feels like to live there on a Tuesday.
We think about Tuesday. We think about the morning when you walk downstairs in your robe, make coffee, look out the window at the fairway, and do absolutely nothing for twenty minutes. We think about the evening when your friends come over and somehow everyone ends up on the putting green arguing about who gets a mulligan.
Golf Houses Co builds for that. Not the photo. The feeling. That is what separates a great Pebble Beach weekend home from a great listing, and it is the difference our buyers feel the moment they walk in.
The Wine, the Food, and the Putting Contest at Golf Houses
The wine: Susan Zavatto from Lewis Cellars — Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET Level 3, the kind of person who makes you feel smarter about wine without ever making you feel dumb. She poured a four-wine flight: Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and the Full Circle. The Cab was the crowd favorite. The Sauvignon Blanc was the sleeper.
The food: Chef Jeff Nimer of Haute Chefs LA walked into that kitchen, looked at the Carocim tile, looked at the golf course, and said "this works." He flew in from LA with his sous chef, set up a passed hors d'oeuvres situation that had people going back three and four times, and made it look effortless. The mini burgers were the thing everyone is still texting about.
The putting contest: Justin Russo — golf coach, family friend, and the person you want running your tournament. He laid out the course, explained the rules, and then watched seventy people in cocktail attire take putting way too seriously. Malbon Golf provided the prizes. Bragging rights were self-issued.
The property: 1158 Chaparral Road did what it was supposed to do. It held the evening. The deck at golden hour with the oaks and the fairway behind it — that was the moment. People stood there with a glass of wine and just stopped talking for a second. That is the highest compliment a golf home can get.
Carmel Realty: Who Knows the Pebble Beach Buyer Better Than Anyone

Every new community has a moment where you stop feeling like an outsider. For us, that moment had a name.
Shelly Mitchell Lynch and Carmel Realty understood what we were building before we had the language to fully explain it. In a town with deep roots and long memory, that kind of early confidence is not something you earn on a spreadsheet. It is something someone decides to extend. And she did, quietly, from the beginning.
What Carmel Realty brings is not access. It is knowledge. Decades of understanding exactly who the right buyer is for a given property, before the listing ever goes live. Not a database. Genuine insight into who belongs in what kind of home and why. When 1158 Chaparral Road came to market, they already knew. The buyer was identified on Day 1. The house sold on Day 1.
We are still learning this town. Having Carmel Realty next to us has made the difference between arriving and belonging.
The Next Golf Houses Co. Property on the Monterey Peninsula Is Already in Progress
We started Golf Houses Co with a simple belief: life is short, and your home should make it longer — or at least make it feel that way.
Cold plunge in the morning. Clean water from every faucet. A private putting green for the days when you just need ten minutes outside. Wine with friends when the light goes golden. Food that someone actually thought about. Laughter, a lot of it.
If nobody has combined wellness, golf, and real living into one luxury property before, then good. We will be the first. And if that evening at 1158 Chaparral Road is any indication, buyers have been waiting for it.
The house sold on Day 1.
We are already dreaming the next one into existence.
1158 Chaparral Road, Pebble Beach. Listed & sold by Carmel Realty Company.
